Synopsis:
Skye Morrison begged for death. Fortunately, someone didn't listen.
Skye awakens to discover she has been irrevocably changed and the unprecedented circumstances of her rebirth have now created a new threat to her very existence. Sired by both the monster Amun and the vampire Archer Rhys, Skye must prove to the army of An Dilis (The Faithful) whose essence is most dominant within her and that she is not a danger to them or society. The Faithful soon discover that she is unlike any vampire ever created before as she struggles to adjust to her new life and the changes that come with it.
Her recent brush with death has made Skye
realize that life is precious and she wastes no time telling the one she loves
how she feels about him.
But, Amun finds out that someone interfered with Skye's transformation and the intrusion makes him livid. He gives Skye 7 days to come to him or he threatens to begin killing the ones she loves most.
Will Skye be able to survive long enough to
enjoy her new life now that Amun is hunting her and everyone she loves?

So after seriously wanting to slap Skye in The Original Sin for her behaviour, particularly towards the lovely Trey, I was relieved to see her back at almost her kick-ass self! Some of Skye's exchanges with Ruarc and Olief had me literally laughing out loud, and I felt this was the part of Skye the reader had missed during her darker times.
In Legacy for Blood there is a transition for all the characters as they adjust to developments and the reader has a different perspective as we view the vampires and events through Skye's new eyes.
Although the plot is a continuation from previous books J L McCoy has a way of making it new and refreshing, charming the reader with the fantasy of the vampiric world she creates.
I like the way in which Skye has the chance to explore her sexuality more in Legacy for Blood and that she can finally admit her attraction to Archer. I look forward to seeing how J L McCoy develops their relationship in further books.
Legacy for Blood may be my favourite book of the series so far for its romance, humour and action. I feel that J L McCoy continues to get better with each book in the Skye Morrison series and I love this group of characters. I am so excited for book 5!!!

I pulled my fangs out with difficulty and
licked the blood from her wrist as Archer did the same. I sat back on the
couch, closed my eyes and took a few much needed deep breaths. Her blood had
been utterly exquisite and by far the best I had tasted yet. I licked my lips
and fangs, not wanting to waste a drop, as I basked in the satisfaction of my
meal.
“That was amazing,” she whispered contentedly beside me as she tried to catch her breath. “Please tell me I’m next,” Jason chuckled from the couch. “I could use a good orgasm.”
I heard Archer growl lowly and opened my eyes to see him flash to his feet as he turned to face Jason.
“Archer,” I whispered and he immediately turned back to me, his eyes were just starting to drain of their color. I guess someone didn’t like the way my bite had affected the male feeders. I stood on wobbly legs and reached out for him. He was instantly there, his arms wrapped protectively around me, and I sighed as I shook my head, trying to clear the overwhelming urge to feed again.
My God... That was the most amazing
experience of my entire life. Her blood... it was like tasting heaven. I didn’t
want to stop, but I knew I should before I took too much, I told him silently
as I looked up into his ice blue eyes
“Your control is astounding, Skye,” he
praised in a soft whisper, his eyes shining proudly. “It is very rare for one
as young as you to stop so readily. You are a remarkable woman... but I always
knew that.”
“It is impressive,” Oleif conceded from his post by the doorway. “Ruarc will be happy to know she’s not a completely mindless monster after all.”
