Allison thought it was crazy enough when she found out her father, Liam, wasn’t entirely human. But now she has to join his magical allies to unravel his former mistress’s plans. Aoife wants to keep Allison’s parents apart forever.
Despite Allison’s efforts to keep Ethan, the only guy she’s ever cared about, out of this supernatural mess, fate keeps throwing him back into the mix.
Will Allison be able to find the amulet that holds the enchantment Aoife placed on Liam and destroy it? Are Ethan’ s feelings for Allison strong enough to endure the magic of the Tuatha De Danaan?

Review
Stone of Destiny is Laura Howard's second fantasy novel about the Danaan, a surviving Fae clan. I find the author's writing style fluid and her descriptions, particularly of characters, vividly descriptive.
As with The Forgotten Ones, the Danaan is an originally created race, setting this series apart from other books about the Fae. Deghlan and Saorise are the King and Queen of Tir na n'Og, distinguished from other members of their race by their unbelievable beauty, arrogance and powers. Neither are particularly trustworthy, especially the temperamental King, who finds it humourous to use his techniques of seduction on Allison.
Throughout the story I had a difficult time believing that Allison is twenty-three because I felt her dramatic behaviours and angst make her seem less mature. But she also has a strong sense of duty and wants to protect those close to her and she never refuses the chance for an adventure!
At the beginning of Stone of Destiny Laura Howard concisely recalls key details from The Forgotten Ones, helping us to acclimatize, but the story develops at a slower rate than I expected and the object referred to in the title is not identified until 73% into the novel. However, the way in which Laura Howard takes her time with her writing pays off in the latter stages when the action is at its most exciting; we do not have to question the identities or motives of the characters.
I really like the fact that at the story's ending we are left wanting answers to questions and willing the release of A Place Beyond.
I recommend Stone of Destiny because it will satisfy readers who enjoy romance and if you listen closely the Danaan call us from Laura Howard's pages to enter their fantastical world.

About the Author
Laura Howard lives in New Hampshire with her husband and four children. Her obsession with books began at the age of 6 when she got her first library card. Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and other girly novels were routinely devoured in single sittings. Books took a backseat to diapers when she had her first child. It wasn’t until the release of a little novel called Twilight, 8 years later, that she rediscovered her love of fiction. Soon after, her own characters began to make themselves known. The Forgotten Ones is her first published novel.
