All in One Place was asked to submit a guest post topic to author of the Cassie Scot series, Christine Amsden. I have been a regular follower of hers since I read the first book and wanted to pick a topic she could have fun with. The question of magical powers also ties well to the book series, in which so many of Christine Amsden's characters have paranormal talents!
“If I had 5 magical powers for a day they would be . . . . . .and this is what I'd do with them . . . “

2. Next, I want to fly. I mean, I know it's not as useful as some other things I could do. It's not even as useful as some of the other travel powers I could request (like teleportation). But I've only got 24 hours (well, a few more thanks to the slowing down time power) and I want to enjoy them in style. I sometimes have flying dreams, which are the best ones until I start to doubt that I can fly. I want a day where the dream doesn't end, not even if the Road Runner hands me a physics book.
3. Empathy: I don't think I could deal with this one long-term, but as it's only for a day … I think I'd really like this connection to other people. To know what they're feeling. And even, if empathy works the way I sometimes write it in my books, to be able to subtly influence their emotions to counter fear, anger, and depression.
4. Clairvoyance: Again, this isn't a power I'd like long-term. I think you can know too much about the future. But have you ever wished you could go back and time and warn people about certain impending disasters? I know in books the seer is seldom believed, but after people see me flying around with a cape whipping in the wind, they'll surely give it some serious thought. Besides, I'm also an empath, so maybe I can influence them to believe me.
5. Self-healing: Yes, this is my selfish request. I should ask to be able to heal others, but frankly I've only got a day and I'm already trying to make people less angry, more happy, and possibly avert some disasters. At the end of the day, all the powers are gone and what am I left with? Well, if I take self-healing, I could be left with 20/20 vision instead of the 20/400 vision that currently plagues me. This could be my souvenir from a thoroughly wild and wonderous day!
